The Waiter's Race - Back By Popular Demand.

You've Waited ... Now It's Back!

Due to time constraints last year it was not possible to run the Waiter's Race during last year's Raft Race Weekend, but demand has been so great that the Committee have decided to bring it back for 2005.

Raft Race 2004
Last Year's Raft Race

The race takes place on the Sunday afternoon, down at the Harbour after the church service and inspires fierce competition between bars and restaurants in the Triangle area. It involves a nominated representative from each of the hostelries running between two points in fancy dress - carrying a tray of glasses full of liquid.

There are prizes for the first past the post, the most liquid returned, the best-dressed entrant and also the most money collected. Traditionally this is the category that causes the most competition!

It really is good craic and the competitors take the race very seriously on behalf of their establishments - there is honour and pride at stake! There are always supporters from each establishment cheering them on and we recommend the event as a great afternoon's entertainment - finishing the Raft Race weekend in style!

We would like to take this opportunity to invite your establishment to come along and join in the event.

Who rules? The Waiter's Race will decide!
