Portrush Raft Race 2004

A Raft!
|
Saturday the 29th of May 2004 was the 23rd Annual Portrush Raft Race. Since the Raft Race began, you good people have helped us raise more than £450,000; this money has saved many lives at sea, we all thank you most sincerely. At the same time we would wish to sincerely thank our Raft Race Sponsors for their continued support.
The main focus of the day was the afternoon's raft race, but there was ongoing entertainment for all the family including clowns, Wild Geese Parachute Display, music on the green and a search and rescue display by the Portrush Lifeboat. Television personality Julian Simmons was there to present the awards and to join in the fun.

Many of you took the opportunity to come aboard the lifeboat to meet members of the crew and take a closer look at the equipment and technology used to save lives at sea. The raft race is all about raising money to fund the work of the local RNLI, so we were glad to be able to show you the results of your generous donations.
